Aeon is situated around an old limestone quarry on Limhamn, Malmö, Sweden, and is investigating ideas around Western knowledge production, social constructions that float between practices of remembering and forgetting, and not-knowing as a radical position of learning. The narrative carries conversations around human extraction of natural resources which are framed by stories from the artist’s ancestors working in the quarry and their dreams of a better life as a working class. The theatric element of the film brings the narrative simultaneously forward and backward in time and is looking for moments when time loops, moments where ritual and theater merge and allow for attempts of healing.
